Richmond Yards and Fence Lines

Richmond Fence Installation and Storm Repair

Richmond's clay soil, river-bottom ground and Gulf storms are hard on wood fences.

Richmond is the Fort Bend County seat, with a historic downtown near the Brazos River and neighborhoods like Pecan Grove, Aliana, Harvest Green and Grand Mission spread out around it. Plenty of yards here are big, and many have old pecan and oak trees. That means long fence lines, and long fence lines catch the most wind, rain and shifting soil.

When Hurricane Beryl came through in July 2024, it left leaning and broken fences across Richmond. We reset posts in concrete, replace rotted pickets and rails, or build a whole new fence when the old one is past saving. Then we can stain it so it holds its color longer. Emeil will tell you up front how long the job should take.

Ask Us About Richmond Fences

What Richmond Homeowners Want to Know

My Richmond fence is still leaning after Hurricane Beryl — can it be fixed?

Often, yes. If the pickets and rails are still solid, we can dig out the leaning posts, set new ones in concrete and straighten the fence. If the wood has rotted or split, we'll show you and quote new sections instead of patching wood that won't last.

Can you build a fence around the pecan trees in my Richmond yard?

Yes. Big pecan roots near the fence line mean we place posts carefully instead of cutting through major roots. Sometimes we shift a post a little or jog the fence line. We'll walk it with you first so you know exactly where the fence will run.

Does my Richmond HOA need to approve a new fence?

Many Richmond neighborhoods, like Pecan Grove, Aliana and Harvest Green, have HOAs that may set rules on fence height, style or stain color. Check with yours before work starts. We'll give you the height, wood type and stain details so the request is easy to fill out.

Can you fix just a few broken pickets on my Richmond fence?

Yes. Not every fence needs a full rebuild. If the posts are solid, we can swap out broken or rotted pickets and rails and match them as closely as we can. New boards look lighter at first, so staining the whole fence afterward helps it all blend together.

Should I stain my new fence in Richmond right away?

Bare pine or cedar starts turning gray within months under Richmond sun. Many people stain soon after the wood has had time to dry out, which helps it hold color and shed water. Emeil will look at the boards and tell you when yours is ready.
